The In-Sync interviews continue as this week we zone into the life and music of an artist you might have not known about until now, T Junction.

Thapelo Nkanyane grew up in a family that does music, “I started recording my first song when I was 13, my rapping was motivated by my uncle King Solomon II, however, I didn’t just wanna rap, I wanted to sing also, so I joined a worship team when I was 16 and the singing helped shape my music,” recounted T Junction. He started out making music for the world wanting to be heard and wealthy, but with the passing of time it all became meaningless, he learned that he will be held accountable for the content of his songs, “I repented and from there Christ is all I’m about” shared the artist from Roodepoort who is also a signee of the record label Jesus Is Lord Entertainment. T Junction recently released his first Christian album “Holy Water” and will be having his first performance on 27 November 2020 at 135 7th Avenue North Roodepoort. He also released a single titled Sometimes earlier this year.

At the end of the day, I want to spread the gospel because that’s the only thing that matters for me

Thapelo describes SA CHH to be “a musical way to influence our youth and draw them closer to Christ because music is so relevant to our young people these days, that makes Christian Hip Hop rap something new for our young people to keep them positive, strong and encouraged in the Lord. Being part of the chosen generation it’s vital to know the Lord and to understand your worth,” adding that although he feels no one is responsible for pioneering SA CHH to where it is today but he and his brother Jimoworld from JIL aim to take it to the level where it can be. “At the end of the day, I want to spread the gospel because that’s the only thing that matters for me,” voiced T Junction, he also mentioned that for a song to be a hit is the content because “people hardly speak about their situations, most of us go through the same problems daily and that makes one relate to the lyrics of the song” motivated Thapelo; this is a point that his record label mate and brother attested that T Junction does in all his songs. These young cats are pulling their own and connecting with other national and international CHH artists, “I’m planning on collaborating with a few international artists in the near future but because Christians are driven by the Holy Spirit I do not know what the future holds for me but I know it will be good,” he explained. His playlist includes Sevin, Jimoworld, and Eshon Burgundy, and he aspires to collaborate with Dube Brothers, Dr. Tumi and Rebecca Malope.

Sometimes – T Junction

T Junction’s music is inspirational conscious music that is easy to listen to and aims to deliver the message in a way that the audience can still enjoy the song without having to break it down. You can follow him on Instagram to catch up on his latest moves. “Stay humble; let the world know it’s not about you, it never was. As Christian rappers, we only glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in our music. It’s tough being an artist getting your music out on different platforms but keep on pushing and keep on praying that your music gets to the right ears whom God wants to bring the message to,” encouraged T Junction.
