The experiences that he went through on his journey has brought to life this EP that he has been working on for the past 3-4 years. “The sound is very dark and the topics are relevant and relatable,” shared Smasher. He said the style of Underrated is Hip Hop with a bit of RNB. “The project was produced by my long time close friend and Executive Producer Ezee Mimo and I had my friends from years back feature on one song called Crucify, we used to be a Hip Hop Crew back then called NBJ,” he revealed adding that the artwork and photography were done by Babalo who also worked with Lux on his album, Langa.

“You’re going to think I’m corny, but I’m really being honest when I say that I can’t single out any song, they all resonate with me, I can’t pinpoint and say I’ve got a favourite song. Personally, every song on here is important and every song carries weight and all of them are my favourite songs, which is why I decided to put it on the project, I think everyone will have their own favourite song to select, to be honest, mine is the entire project,” pointed out Smasher.
The EP will available on digital music platforms from the 26th of March 2021, make sure to set a reminder. In the meantime, if you are in the area you catch him live on the 21st of March 2020 in Mitchells Plain Tafelsig at the Grown Men Alliance event and check out his single Riding with the Wave which is also on the Underrated EP.
